Bank MNC collaborates with Visa Indonesia to launch a virtual credit card

JAKARTA – PT Bank MNC Internasional Tbk (BABP), the Motionbanking app provider, is joining hands with Visa Indonesia to issue MotionVisa, the first virtual credit card in Indonesia. This cooperation was settled between both companies virtually yesterday (15/7).

Teddy Tee, Director of Bank MNC Internasional and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of MotionBanking, claims that partnerships with various parties aim to enhance MotionBanking features. For instance, its cooperation with Visa Indonesia. “MotionVisa would bring new sparks in online transactions in Indonesia. A seamless virtual credit card application in MotionBanking is the first in Indonesia,” Tee claims in a press conference, quoted Friday (16/7).

According to Tee, this virtual credit card is equipped with advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and integrated with the Department of Population and Civil Registration (Disdukcapil). Thus, it allows instant permission and faster credit approval. This advanced version of credit card bears similarities with the physical card, in which both have the Card Verification Value (CVV) and expiration date.

On the other hand, Riko Abdurrahman, President Director of Visa Indonesia, reveals that the synergy regarding the virtual credit card is highly relevant with the study of Visa consumer payment attitude. The research shows that 68%  of the respondents in Indonesia have made cashless transactions. “53% of the respondents said that lately, they carry less cash because they would use cards [for transactions],” Abdurrahman further elaborates.
