JAKARTA - PT Digital Mediatama Maxima Tbk (DMMX) is joining hands with SmartRetail Group (SmartRetail), a programmatic Engagement Out-of-Home (EOOH) platform on Automated Retail Touch Points, to form a joint-venture company.
The JV, PT DMMX SmartRitel Teknologi, will enable DMMX to bring SmartRetail’s solutions and technology to its partners, offering brands, retailers, and marketers an additional platform to engage its customers. SmartRetail is headquartered in Hong Kong and manages close to 2,000 smart vending machines and retail touch points across Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia.
The establishment of the JV company is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2021. Post-completion, DMMX and SmartRetail will each own 50% of the JV company.

Through this cooperative venture, DMMX will lend its platform capabilities and existing network to SmartRetail, while gaining access SmartRetail’s existing products and technology, which has tremendous developmental potential in terms of enriching DMMX existing locations with stronger consumer engagement capabilities and facial profiling and recognition solutions. The JV will develop an extensive Engagement Out-of-home (EOOH) platform across Indonesia, that complements DMMX’s existing platform and deliver higher income.(LM)
