JAKARTA. As a measure supporting branch offices optimisation and digital banking utilisation, Bank Mandiri has closed 92 branch offices, particularly those located in the red or black zone of COVID-19.

Rudi As Atturidha, Corporate Secretary of Bank Mandiri, claims that the decision to close these branch offices has gone through careful consideration. It includes the neighbouring location of these offices and the level of digital technology penetration within the chosen areas.

“The optimisation of the branch offices and digital banking utilisation align with the revised business plan of 2021 submitted to OJK,” Atturidha confirms, as quoted by Bisnis on Wednesday (21/7).

Until June 30, 2021, Bank Mandiri offices amount to 2,426 branch offices across Indonesia. They consist of 140 branch offices, 2,220 supporting branch offices, and 66 cash offices.

According to Atturidha, Bank Mandiri would still explore the opportunity to reopen and relocate these branch offices in and to the potential areas according to the public’s needs. (AM/ZH)
