UMKM sector is the main contributor to Bank Jatim credit growth

SURABAYA. The credit growth in the micro, small, and medium businesses (UMKM) sector brings in the highest contribution to the credit growth of PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (BJTM). Its growth is reported to reach 14.62%, scoring IDR 7.25 trillion in the first half of 2021.

The subsequent highest growth is demonstrated by the commercial sector, increasing 13.39% to IDR 10.63 trillion. The consumption sector follows with a 5.26% climb to IDR 24.72% trillion. Overall, Bank Jatim’s credit grows 8.72% year-on-year (yoy) to IDR 42.60 trillion.

BJTM has secured the earnings before tax of IDR 1.04 trillion, slightly make a 5.56% upturn. Its net profit accumulates to IDR 8.03 billion, also slightly higher, by 4.32%.

“We are grateful that despite this condition, Bank Jatim still manages to record a positive result in its performance compared to last year,” Busrul Iman, President Director of Bank Jatim, claimed in a virtual press conference yesterday (28/7).

Some other indicators showing performance improvement are Bank Jatim’s assets that proliferate by 26.90% to IDR 95.48 trillion. Additionally, its third-party funds also increase by 27.36% to IDR 81.52 trillion. (AM/ZH)
