JAKARTA. PT Indosat Tbk (ISAT), a telecommunication operator, secures IDR 5.61 trillion in profit throughout the first half of 2021. It manages to recover from the IDR 217.66 billion loss recorded in the same period last year. President Director of Indosat, Ahmad Abdulaziz AA Al-Neama, announces this gain in the Financial Report H1 2021 published earlier today (29/7).
ISAT is revealed to score IDR 14.98 trillion in revenue, which is 11.38% higher than IDR 13.45 trillion reported last year. The main contribution comes from the cellular segment, bringing in IDR 12.40 trillion, as quoted from Multimedia Komunikasi Data. Then the internet segment follows behind with IDR 2.29 trillion, while fixed telecommunication comes last with IDR 283.54 billion.
In H1 2021, the gain in the current profit is driven by the net income of the sale and leaseback of its tower, scoring IDR 6.16 trillion. Thus, the expense is reported at IDR 7,92 trillion, diminishing from IDR 12.36 trillion in the same period last year. This achievement also boosts the earnings before tax to reach IDR 5.66 trillion, turning the tables from IDR 261.18 billion of loss before tax reported last year. (LK/ZH)
