30 July 2021 10:24

JAKARTA. The shift in net interest income of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk of 21.50% year-on-year (yoy) in the first half of 2021 has driven the net profit to reach IDR 12.5 trillion.

This impressive performance goes hand in hand with the credit disbursement for this period that amounts to IDR 1,014.3 trillion, increasing 16.73%. Furthermore, it coincides with a 19.73% surge in its third-party funds to IDR 1,169.2 trillion.

Darmawan Junaidi, President Director of Bank Mandiri, in a press release on Thursday (29/7), claimed that these gains are possible due to the well-functioned intermediates. They have successfully maintained the performance growth despite the company’s domestic consumption being adversely affected by the pandemic.

The wholesale banking segment is revealed to aid the credit growth, increasing 7.13% to IDR 534.2 trillion. Then, the small businesses (UMKM) financing segment contributes IDR 98.3 trillion, proliferating 20.1%. Meanwhile, the gross NPL ratio is reported at 3.08%, dropping 21 bps from Q2 2020. (AM/ZH)
