JAKARTA – PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna Tbk (HMSP) has gained the current year’s profit of IDR 4.13 trillion in the first half of 2021, sloping down from the number reported in the same period in 2020 of IDR 4.88 trillion. Corporate Secretary of HM Sampoerna, Bambang Priambodo, announces this news in the Financial Report H1 2021, published earlier today (30/7).

The said report reveals that HMSP sales are steadily rising by 6.47%, from IDR 44.73 trillion to IDR 47.62 trillion. However, the gross profit drops from IDR 9.73 trillion to IDR 8.83 trillion as a result of the increased cost of goods sold by 10.85% compared to the previous period. The higher selling and financial expenses also consume its earnings before tax, falling to IDR 5.27 trillion from IDR 6.34 trillion.

The main contribution comes from the domestic market, comprising machine-rolled kretek cigarettes (SKM) of IDR 31.48 trillion and hand-rolled kretek cigarettes (SKT) of IDR 10.56 trillion. Then, they are followed by machine-rolled white cigarettes (SPM) of IDR 4.69 trillion, hand-rolled white cigarettes (SPT) of IDR 139.02 billion, and other products of IDR 311.19 billion. SPT is the new segment that has recently generated sales.

In the same period last year, SKM products sales reach IDR 30.50 trillion, SKT IDR 9.51 trillion, SPM IDR 4.30 trillion, and other products IDR 270.36 billion. On the other hand, the sales in the export market declines to IDR 73.87 billion from IDR 142.67 billion. (LK/ZH)
