Heavy equipment demand recovers, United Tractors reports significant improvement

30 July 2021 13:58

JAKARTA. As more activities requiring heavy equipment emerge and commodity price increases, PT United Tractors Tbk (UNTR) feels the impact on its performance in H1 2021. It ends positively with two-digit growth observed across many aspects.

For instance, its revenue in the first half of 2021 grows 12% to IDR 37.3 trillion from IDR 33.2 trillion in H1 2020. Its net profit also shifts up by 11% to IDR 4.5 trillion from IDR 4.1 trillion. The mining contractor segment contributes the most to the revenue with 41%, followed by the construction machine segment of 25%, coal mining 20%, gold mining 12%, and the construction industry 2%.

Frans Kesuma, President Director of United Tractors, claims this impressive performance is a result of the increasing activities in many sectors that call for heavy equipment and higher commodity prices. However, Kesuma sees this economic condition to still be challenging for the rest of the year, especially with the uncertainty hovering around due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“However, the trend for the commodity price is estimated to stay positive until the year ends, thus inducing the optimism about attaining the set target,” Kesuma further hopes, as quoted earlier today (30/7). (AM/ZH)
