JAKARTA – PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) initiates its business expansion by building accommodation and hotel for Indonesian hajj and umrah pilgrims in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. This plan had been finalised following the cooperation agreement signing with the Hajj Financial Management Agency (lit. Badan Pengelola Keuangan Haji/BPKH) yesterday (4/8).

Novel Arsyad, President Director of PTPP, hopes that the accommodation and hotel facilities could elevate the quality of pilgrimage, rationality, and efficiency in hajj arrangement cost as stated in Law No.34/2014 regarding the hajj financial management. Arsyad explains this through the press release, quoted today (5/8).

According to Arsyad, the number of hajj pilgrims in Indonesia is a business potential that needs to be seized by the company as a state-owned enterprise. The hajj pilgrims in Indonesia are estimated to amount to 231,000 people, while umrah pilgrims equal 1.2 million people. This number is projected to equal 10.7% of the total world hajj pilgrims.

This accommodation establishment project is introduced under the name Proyek Rumah Indonesia (PRI). Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, Vice Minister of State-owned Enterprises (BUMN), and Anggito Abimanyu, Executive Head of BPKH, were present at the virtual official agreement signing yesterday (4/8). (LK/ZH)
