MEDAN - Pelindo 1 and PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Shipping and Port Business Services conducted online on Thursday, August 5, 2021.
"Pelindo 1's operational areas include Aceh, North Sumatra, Riau, and the Riau Islands which have great potential in the marine services business. Sabang is the western end of Indonesia's gateway with great potential for the marine services business. Not only that, as we know that the Riau Islands region also has a strategic area, especially the Batam area. Pelindo 1 operational areas which have the front yard of the Malacca Strait are a great opportunity and potential to develop the marine service business. It is hoped that Pelindo 1 and PTK can work together and work together to seize marine services opportunities in the Malacca Strait area," explained Pelindo 1 President Director, Prasetyo.
Prasetyo hopes that this collaboration can further strengthen the marine services business in Indonesia which will later be able to support government programs to help reduce national logistics costs. With this collaboration, it is hoped that it will be able to provide added value for optimizing the assets owned by Pelindo 1 and PTK.
The scope of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by Pelindo 1 with PTK is to cooperate in the shipping and port business which includes chartering vessels, pilotage services, towing services, warehousing, information technology, stacking land, and other supporting activities; terminal development which is currently managed by PTK or its affiliates f
