JAKARTA – PT Sarana Central Bajatama Tbk (BAJA) is optimistic that its profit would reach IDR 200 billion by the end of the year, exceeding the target set at the beginning of the year of IDR 80 billion. President Director of Sarana Central Bajatama, Handaja Susanto, expresses this sentiment through the public expose, quoted Tuesday (10/8).
Until June 2021, BAJA’s profit had been reported to reach IDR 100 billion, surpassing the gross profit realisation in 2020 of IDR 101.64 billion. Meanwhile, as of July 2021, BAJA has scored IDR 700 billion in revenue. “The contribution is made by the retail segments as the project construction slows down due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” Susanto clarifies.
In December 2020, the report showed BAJA earning IDR 1.20 trillion in revenue. It grew from IDR 1.07 trillion reported in 2019. Furthermore, its profit significantly proliferated to IDR 55.11 billion from IDR 1.12 billion.
According to Susanto, the prospect for the steel industry could be even more promising once the government decided to regulate steel imports more strictly. (LK/ZH)
