Pupuk Kaltim exports more than 327 thousand metric tons of ammonia in first half

JAKARTA - Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (PKT) has again contributed to foreign exchange for the country, by recording as much as 327,541 Metric Tons (MT) of Ammonia produced by PKT which has been exported to various countries around the world, with sales value reaching IDR 1.79 trillion during the first semester of 2021 (January - June). Ammonia production reached 2.82 million tons throughout 2020, or an increase of 3.89% compared to the total production in 2019.

President Director of PKT Rahmad Pribadi, said that currently the potential of the global market is quite large, both for the Asian and American and European regions, so that an increase in domestic exports of fertilizer products will have an impact on a significant increase in the country's foreign exchange. This Ammonia Export is an attempt by the CCP to contribute to national economic growth. "Having a role as a urea producer with the largest capacity in Southeast Asia and Indonesia, we certainly carry out all forms of export activities after domestic needs have been met, both for the subsidized and non-subsidized sectors, especially in areas that are the company's responsibility," explained Rahmad Pribadi.

It is known, that ammonia export activities in the first semester of 2021, apart from using the Free on Board (FoB) method, also used the Cost, Insurance and Freight (CIF) method, by sending 5,250 MT of Ammonia using a fleet ship owned by PT Pupuk Indonesia Logistik (Pilog). (LM)
