JAKARTA. The performance of PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tbk (INKP) shifts positively in the first half of 2021 as its revenue climbs 9.64% and the profit jumps 39.20%.

Based on the financial report in June 2021, INKP records net sales of USD 1.62 billion. They are 9.64% higher than the reported number in the same period last year of USD 1.48 billion. The sales consist of cultural paper products of USD 545.93 million and industrial paper, tissue paper, and others of USD 674.04 million.

The sales of the two different types of papers proliferate 21.78% and 19.04% each compared to the sales recorded in the same period last year. Meanwhile, pulp sales deplete 13.27% to USD 407.25 million from USD 469.59 million posted in the first half of 2020.

In addition, costs of sales are 5.82% higher, reaching USD 1.07 billion from USD 1.01 billion in H1 2020. Furthermore, the operating expense also increases 14.74% to USD 172.84 billion. Through these gains and losses, as of June 2021, the net profit attributable to the parent company reaches USD 282.90 million, experiencing a 39.20% growth from USD 203.22 million last year. (AM/ZH)
