KIJA’s revenue slides off 11% in H1 2021

JAKARTA – PT Kawasan Industri Jababeka Tbk (KIJA) records revenue of IDR 1.11 trillion, dropping 11% from the same period last year of IDR 1.25 trillion. The infrastructure segment, which has been KIJA’s recurring income source, contributes to the gained revenue with a 15% growth.

In the press release, quoted Monday (30/8), Muljadi Suganda, Corporate Secretary of Kawasan Industri Jababeka, confirms that the infrastructure line brings in IDR 630.4 billion to the company, equivalent to 56% of the total revenue. “This segment increment coincides with the diminishing contribution of the land development and property segment in the first half of 2021,” he explains.

According to Suganda, the land development and property sector only generates IDR 436.3 billion, much lower than IDR 663.1 billion recorded last year. The revenue gained within this segment comes from administered land sales in Cikarang, West Java, and Kendal, Central Java, and lands with an established building. On the other hand, the leisure and hospitality sector contributes IDR 49.7 billion to the company’s total revenue.

The decline in KIJA’s revenue also drags its gross profit down by 12% compared to the same period in 2020, now reaching IDR 435.9 billion. Additionally, the loss is reported to reach IDR 105.6 billion, caused by foreign exchange losses of up to IDR 112.5 billion. In the same period last year, the company also recorded a loss of IDR 12.4 billion, induced by the foreign exchange losses of IDR 66.1 billion. (LK/ZH)
