Sharif Cicip Sutardjo is now the President Commissioner of BUMI

JAKARTA – Sharif Cicip Sutardjo, former Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries in 2011-2014, is appointed as the President Commissioner of PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI). It was finalised during the Annual General Shareholders Meeting yesterday (31/8).

Quoted from the press release today (1/9), Dileep Srivastava, Corporate Secretary of Bumi Resources, confirms that Sharif would replace Rosan Perkasa Roeslani’s position. The latter is now assigned by the government to be the Indonesia Ambassador for the United States. Furthermore, the meeting also agreed to place Adhika Andrayudha Bakrie as one of the commissioners of BUMI.

Sutardjo is a politician from Golongan Karya (Golkar), one of the supporting political parties of Joko Widodo during the 2014 and 2019 Presidential Elections. As a politician, he had taken office as Vice President of the Central Executive Board of Golkar. He was appointed as the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, replacing Fadel Muhammad, the minister during President SBY reign in 2009-2014.

The meeting also rearranged the Board of Directors of BUMI. Adika Nuraga Bakrie is now the President Director of BUMI, taking the position of the passing Saptari Hoedjaja. In addition, Rio Supin also becomes one of BUMI’s directors. (LK/ZH)
