SMBR sales volume increases 14% in first half

JAKARTA - In Semester I/2021 PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk (SMBR) managed to record a brilliant performance both in terms of operational performance and financial performance.

Cement sales volume in Semester I/2021 recorded an increase of 14% by 850,484 tons. So that it can positively increase the company's revenue by IDR763.63 billion or up 14% (YoY). Cement sales in Semester I/2021 were still dominated by cement bags/zak to third parties amounting to IDR654.81 billion.

This growth was driven by the recovery of investment activities and the priority of infrastructure development as a positive catalyst for cement companies in the Sumatra region. So that the cement industry does not experience a significant impact with the implementation of restrictions on community activities.

SMBR's performance also showed a recovery throughout Semester I/2021 by posting a positive net profit of IDR2.65 billion. SMBR managed to reduce the cost of goods sold by 7% from the original IDR436.73 billion to IDR407.45 billion. Then operating expenses also decreased by 5% from Rp 268.8 billion to IDR255.6 billion.

The management is optimistic that SMBR's performance in Semester II/2021 is able to achieve the target with the National Economic Recovery (PEN) and also the cement industry is one of the strategic sectors that still has to run amidst the pandemic to support infrastructure development in Indonesia.
