JAKARTA – PT Pertagas Niaga (PTGN), a subsidiary of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGAS), is currently building a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) mother station in Blora, Central Java. It is expected to be fully operated in November 2021.

Quoting the press release on Wednesday (8/9), Linda Sunarti, President Director of Pertagas Niaga, announces that for the next 12 years, the said mother station would compress the gas distributed from Pertamina EP (PEP) Cepu Alas Dara Kemuning (ADK) of ADK Field. The said field has a capacity that reaches 3.5 MMSFCD. “The CNG mother station on progress is targeted to meet the demand of natural gas from the industrial sector in Java,” she claims.

According to Sunarti, the mother station establishment would introduce efficiencies in the distribution and supply of CNG in the industrial sector. The first utilisation of the CNG from the station would be channelled through the pipes to PT Pertagas.

PTGN is known to supply CNG to several industries in Java, East Kalimantan, and South Sumatra. The CNG supply covers the industrial demands coming from regions that have no access to gas pipe networks. (LK/ZH)
