08 September 2021 13:44

JAKARTA. While improving the capability of its digital service, PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI) also explores the potential of acquiring a digital bank.

Sigit Prastowo, Director of Financial and Strategy of Bank Mandiri, confirms that in order to meet the expectation and needs of its consumers, Bank Mandiri develops its digital service capability. In the meantime, the company also continues to seek potentials in acquiring or establishing digital banks as its business peers do. “It is under serious consideration. We would inform further once there was a clear indication towards that plan,” he reassures through a public expose today (8/9).

Currently, BMRI is still committed to perfecting Livin’ by Mandiri. Livin’ by Mandiri, freshly introduced earlier this year, is a replacement for Bank Mandiri’s previous m-banking service.

Until August 2021, this m-banking platform had been accessed by 7.1 million active users, facilitating a total transaction of IDR 388 trillion by the end of Q2 2021. It is 1.5 times higher than the transaction using ATMs, reported at IDR 210 trillion. Similarly, the frequency of transactions using Livin’ is reported to reach 235 million activities, also higher than 206 million transactions facilitated by the ATMs. (AM/ZH)
