JAKARTA. Through one of its subsidiaries, PT BNI Sekuritas, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) or BNI had established a new security company called BNI Securities Pte Ltd (BSPL), headquartered and operating in Singapore.
Mucharom, Corporate Secretary of BNI, claims that BSPL had obtained the Capital Market Service License from the Monetary Authority of Singapore on September 8, 2021. “BSPL could now officially run its business in the capital market sector abiding by the existing law in Singapore,” he confirms in the information disclosure submitted to Indonesia Stock Exchange today (10/9).
On the same occasion, Mucharom reveals that the establishment of BSPL had been actually discussed and planned for a long time by BNI. This plan, in fact, had been inserted in the Bank Business Plan for the fiscal year 2021.
According to Mucharom’s words, BSPL formation in Singapore aims to solidify BNI’s capability as a global bank. “[We intend to do so] by improving the service of the company’s international access through a comprehensive financial service, managed by the subsidiary,” he concludes. (KR/ZH)
