Indosat Ooredoo expands 5G service to Surabaya

SURABAYA - Indosat Ooredoo, Indonesia's leading digital telecommunications company, today announced the launch of commercial 5G services in Surabaya. This launch is a continuation of the 5G revolution in Indonesia, following the previous launch of 5G services in Solo and Jakarta, to encourage innovation and development of local 5G content and use cases that improve people's lives.

To coincide with the launch of this 5G service, a new Nokia 5G Experience Center has been opened at the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) in partnership with Nokia, ITS, and Finland's Oulu University. The facility will focus on providing education, development, and testing capabilities in the 5G field, in order to help strengthen local digital talent, accelerate the development of local 5G content and use cases, and promote economic development by leveraging the advantages of 5G technology.

Following the launch in Surabaya and the two previous cities, Indosat Ooredoo will continue the 5G revolution in Indonesia, by expanding the commercial rollout of 5G services to other major cities in Indonesia with high demand for data services. (LM)
