Government-borne VAT incentives drive Metland sales to IDR 150 billion

JAKARTA. The state incentives for the value-added tax (VAT) borne by the government had led PT Metropolitan Land Tbk’s (MTLA) sales to rise to 180 houses worth IDR 150 billion in total.

Olivia Surodjo, Director of Metropolitan Land, confirmed that as of September 2021, through the assistance of government-borne VAT incentives, Metland had sold approximately 180 units for IDR 150 billion. “The landed houses sales generate the most compared to apartment and ready stock house-shops,” she added, as quoted by Kontan.co.id last week.

Through the Finance Minister Regulation No. 21/PMK/010/2021, the government had exerted the government-borne VAT incentives policy to boost the performance of the property industry. For houses priced at up to IDR 2 billion, the tax incentives reach 100%, while IDR 2 to 5 billion houses would have 50% tax incentives.

Surodjo further mentioned that the MTLA’s sales, through the VAT-free programme in H1 2021, had contributed 9%-20% to the total landed houses and apartment sales. (AM/ZH)
