JAKARTA. PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk (WSKT) scored IDR 4.71 trillion in revenue in the first half of 2021. It depleted by 41.4% from the revenue reported in the same period last year, or year-on-year (yoy).

In the Financial Report of H1 2021, the declined revenue could be linked to the COVID-19 pandemic that significantly affected the business and the company’s longevity in general. However, WSKT claims to have taken some strategic measures.

Some of WSKT’s business lines that bore the direct impact of the pandemic are the construction services line, precast sales, property income, and infrastructure sales. The operating revenue from the construction services in H1 2021 was seen decreasing by 44% yoy, as did precast sales by 20% yoy, property income by 83% yoy, and infrastructure sales by 73% yoy.

Nevertheless, WSKT still managed to post IDR 154.13 billion in net profit in H1 2021. For the record, it spotted a loss in the same period last year.

According to idnfinancials.com data, the Indonesian government still controls 66.04% of WSKT’s shares in June 2021. Public investors claim the other 33.96%, each owning less than 5%. (KR/ZH)
