Surya Citra allocated IDR 200 billion for buyback

15 October 2021 06:58

JAKARTA – PT Surya Citra Media Tbk (SCMA), the private television station company, spared IDR 200 billion to repurchase its shares (buyback) a maximum of 20% of its entire issued and paid-up capital. This corporate action would last a month, starting October 13 until November 12, 2021.

In the information disclosure, quoted Friday (15/10), the source for funding this shares buyback came from SCMA’s internal cash. Thus, it would not have any significant impact on its net assets. However, save for its net profit, SCMA’s assets and equity would still deplete to IDR 6.73 trillion and IDR 4.47 trillion, respectively, from IDR 6.93 trillion and IDR 4.67 trillion. Its net profit would remain stable at IDR 727.38 billion.

As of September 30, 2021, SCMA’s shares amounted to 14,778,091,301 units. PT Elang Mahkota controls 61.04% of them, while public investors claim another 24.51%. Lastly, its treasury stock takes up 14.45% of the current shares. (LK/ZH)
