BTPS establishes a sharia venture capital, expending IDR 20 billion

JAKARTA. PT Bank BTPN Syariah Tbk (BTPS) formed a sharia venture capital, collaborating with its parent company and placing an issued and paid-up capital of IDR 20 billion.

Eneng Yulie Andriani, Corporate Secretary of BTPS, explained that the said venture capital had been established under the name PT BTPN Syariah Ventura (BTPNS). BTPS controls 99% of this new venture’s shares, while the remaining 1% belongs to PT Bank TPN Tbk (BTPN).

“The objective of this sharia venture capital formation is to promote the expansion of sharia financial service institutions as a part of a banking synergy,” Andriani stated in the information disclosure in Indonesia Stock Exchange.

As of June 30, 2021, BTPS reported owning total cash of IDR 892.33 billion and total assets of IDR 17.41 trillion.

The record says that BTPN controls 70% of BTPS’s shares, while public investors share 29.97%. The small remaining portion is a treasury stock and owned by one of the company’s directors. (KR/ZH)
