JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) through the Directorate General of Small, Medium and Multifarious Industries (IKMA) is committed to encouraging small and medium-sized industries (IKM) to apply digital technology, including in the marketing aspect. The current digital transformation is being accelerated by world conditions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. These conditions have changed consumer behavior, one of which is in terms of choosing purchasing channels or consumer shopping

"This program is expected so that national IKM products have quality that can be globally competitive, by utilizing existing digital platforms such as e-commerce, websites and social media," said Reni in Jakarta, Sunday (24/10). According to Bank Indonesia (BI) data, the value of Indonesia's e-commerce transactions in 2020 reached Rp266.3 trillion.

Since 2020, the implementation of the e-Smart IKM program has become part of the Proudly Made in Indonesia National Movement (Gernas BBI) which was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo. Gernas BBI is a national movement as a form of support for domestic industries/products.

"In addition, the intense Gernas BBI campaign carried out by the government also aims to increase MSMEs/IKM onboarding on digital platforms, with a target of 30 million MSMEs/IKM onboarding by 2023," he said. (LM)
