27 October 2021 14:02

JAKARTA. PT Medco Power Indonesia, along with the Consortium of PacificLight Power Pte Ltd (PLP) and Gallant Venture (Salim Group), would export electricity generated in the Solar Power Plant (PLTS) of Bulan Island, Riau, to Singapore.

Several parties involved in the said consortium have obtained the principle permit of electricity import from the Energy Market Authority (EMA) of Singapore. The consortium had signed the Joint Development Agreement during the Singapore International Energy Week last October 25, 2021.

The solar plant channelling the electricity to Singapore has a capacity of 670 megawatt-peak (MWp). It is equivalent to 100 megawatts (MW) of non-intermittent electricity, as stated in the official announcement received by idnfinancials.com.

“We are warmly welcoming the collaboration with PLP and Salim Group in developing the Solar Power Plant project in Bulan Island. This project would bring many benefits for Indonesia, including attracting investments in new and renewable energy resources (EBT),” Eka Satria, CEO of Medco Power Indonesia, claimed.

Medco Power Indonesia is a company under PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk (MEDC), established in 2004. This company acts as an Independent Power Producer (IPP) and has power plants with a total capacity of over 3.1 gigawatts (GW). (KR/ZH)
