JAKARTA – Indonesia Stock Exchange (lit. PT Bursa Efek Indonesia/BEI), PT Kliring Penjaminan Efek Indonesia (KPEI), and PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI) predicted the corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds to reach IDR 75 billion by the end of the year. The CSR fundraising by Self Regulatory Organisation (SRO) was related to the 44th anniversary of Indonesia Capital Market (lit. Pasar Modal Indonesia/PMI).

Syafruddin, Director of KSEI, also acting as the Head of the 44th OMI Anniversary Committee, claimed that the CSR fundraising event had collected IDR 28.17 billion from August to October 2021. The funds came from stock exchange transactions, custodian service fees, and donations made by capital market industry players, which were accumulated to IDR 24.96 billion. “It was estimated that by the end of the year, the raised funds could rise to IDR 70 to 75 billion,” he further explained earlier today (10/11) in the press release regarding the CSR event.

According to Syafruddin, the said CSR funds had been channelled out through various forms of events. They include giving 250 thousand doses of vaccines in 16 regions in Indonesia, arranging blood and convalescent blood plasma donors, providing daily lunch for 325 corpse handlers in public cemeteries, and compensations to 131 beneficiaries of passed medical workers.

Meanwhile, Inarno Djajadi, President Director of BEI, also confirmed that the CSR funds were gained from stock exchange transactions and custodian services fees collected daily each month. “The simultaneous CSR events for the past months could hopefully help to face the pandemic,” he added.
