JAKARTA – Attorney General Office was reported to have confiscated several lands and building assets of PT Sinergi Megah Internusa Tbk (NUSA) in Yogyakarta. This asset seizure was related to the investigation of the alleged corruption act of PT Asabri (Persero), orchestrated by Teddy Tjokrosapoetro, younger brother of Benny Tjokrosapoetro, President Commissioner of NUSA.

Herman Susanto, Director of Sinergi Megah Internusa, claimed to have received notice of seizure for fixed assets yesterday (16/11). “This legal case faced by Teddy Tjokrosapoetro is not a legal case of the company or any of our subsidiaries,” he reaffirmed in the information disclosure, quoted Thursday (18/11).

The confiscated assets in question are three land certificates and the building utilised by Lafayette Boutique Hotel Yogyakarta by the name of NUSA.

According to Susanto, this foreclosure has yet to show any impacts on the operation of Lafayette Boutique Hotel, whose management is still handled by NUSA. “The company would wait for a permanent legal decision (inkracht) made in the Supreme Court,” Susanto added.

As of October 2021, NUSA’s shares amounted to 7,700,000,148 units, 80.713% of which belonged to public investors, each claiming less than 5%. Yongki Teja claimed another 6.554%, Hendra Brata 9.723%, and Benny Tjokrosapoetro 3.01%.

As widely known, Teddy Tjokrosapoetro was announced as the suspect of the alleged corruption act in the financial and investment funds management of Asabri that had been occurred in several companies from 2012 to 2019. (LK/ZH)
