Coal price keeps moving up, ADRO’s profit soared 284.81%

JAKARTA. The ever-increasing average selling price of coals has driven PT Adaro Energy Tbk’s (ADRO) revenue to increase 31% year-on-year (yoy) to USD 2.57 billion, dragging its net profit up by 284.81% in Q3 2021.

Garibaldi Thohir, President Director of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ADRO, claimed that the surge in his company’s revenue came from the soaring average selling price of coals by 42% yoy.

Furthermore, in an official statement yesterday (30/11), Thohir claimed that this positive condition in the coal business affected ADRO’s profitability. ADRO also managed to maintain a solid and efficient operation that focuses on its advantages.

ADRO’s operating EBITDA reached USD 1.15 billion by the end of September 2021, jumping 70% yoy from USD 676 million in September 2020. In the end, ADRO scored USD 420.9 million or IDR 6.01 trillion in net profit, proliferating 284.81% yoy from USD 109.38 million in Q3 2020. (AM/ZH)
