BTPN grants Kepland Investama a green loan of IDR 1 trillion

JAKARTA. PT Bank BTPN Tbk (BTPN) provides a green loan facility of IDR 1.06 trillion with a three-year tenor to PT Kepland Investama. Kepland Investama would use the said facility to refinance credits spent on building the International Financial Centre (IFC) office in Jakarta.

Nathan Christianto, Head of Wholesale Banking of BTPN, claimed that this green loan facility grant indicated BTPN’s ability to distribute credits while paying attention to the good environmental, social, and governance aspects.

In a written statement published today (6/12), Christianto said that this transaction is said to enhance the trust of BTPN’s users in Indonesia and regions in Southeast Asia regarding the bank’s reputation as the coordinator of green loans.

Bank BTPN and the parent company, Sumitomo Mitsu Banking Corporation (SMBC), also help Keplend Investama implement the green loan framework and its documentation. It would follow the guideline of green loans set by the Loan Market Association and Asia Pacific Loan Market Association (APLMA). For the record, PT Kepland Investama is a subsidiary of Keppel Land Limited, headquartered in Singapore.

Samuel Ng, President of Keppel Land Indonesia, promised that Keppel land would always develop buildings that are environmentally friendly, as it goes in accordance with the SMBC’s initiatives in mitigating the climate change issues through the SMBC GREEN×GLOBE 2030 (GG2030) program. (AM/ZH)
