Prudential and Standard Chartered issued two hybrid investment funds

JAKARTA. PT Prudential Life Assurance (Prudential Indonesia) and Standard Chartered Bank Indonesia (Standard Chartered) collaborate to issue two types of mutual funds in two different currencies, the US dollar and the Indonesian rupiah.

Chief Partnership Distribution Officer of Prudential Indonesia, Ivy Widjaja, revealed the said mixed mutual funds to be named PRULink Rupiah Global Managed Income Fund and PRULink US Dollar Global Managed Income Fund. These would be offered in innovative companies, such as e-commerce, information technology, artificial intelligence, and fintech companies.

In its official release yesterday (6/12), Widjaja said that both investment funds would be suitable for users with medium to high-risk profiles and preferences of investment funds allocation in foreign countries with potential additional investment values monthly. Other than fixed income in the domestic and foreign market, she explained that these funds would be invested globally in shares of innovative companies thriving in the megatrend businesses. They are usually international and sustainable companies.

Prudential and Standard Chartered have invested in offshore funds. It includes investing in the technology and media sector, which have promising prospects. The Return of Investment (ROI) ranking based on sectors in the US in Q3 2021, published by CSI Market, reported that the technology and healthcare service sector each had ROI of 24.89% and 10.11%.

Meru Arumdalu, Head of Wealth Management of Standard Chartered Bank Indonesia, claimed that this innovation is intended as an opportunity for its users to invest in global companies that focus their economic activities on the technology sector. She agreed that PRULink Rupiah Global Managed Income Fund and PRULink US Dollar Global Managed Income Fund could offer potential additional investment values each month. (AM/ZH)
