JAKARTA – Two new contractors are going to be involved in boosting coal production in the Mining-Business License of PT Bhakti Coal Resources (BCR) in Banyuasin, South Sumatra. BRC is a company that is undergoing an acquisition process by PT Indonesia Transport & Infrastructure Tbk (IATA).

Santi Paramita, Corporate Secretary of PT MNC Investama Tbk (BHIT), the parent company of IATA, mentioned that the contractors in question are PT Darma Henwa Tbk (DEWA) and PT MNC Infrastruktur Utama (MIU). “With the addition of these two contractors, BRC’s mines would be managed by five contractors in total. The other existing three are PT Cipta Bersama Sukses (CBS), PT Universal Support (US), and PT Bara Permata Mining (BPM)," she specified in the press release, quoted Monday (13/12).

According to Paramita, the signing of new contractors is intended to attain the coal production target of 8 million metric tons (MT) in 2022. This year, the total coal production generated by BRC’s subsidiaries, including PT Putra Muba Coal (PMC), PT Bhumi Sriwijaya Perdana Coal (BSPC), PT Indonesia Batu Prima Energi (IBPE), and PT Arthaco Prima Energi (AP), amounted to 2.5 million MT.

“By the end of this year, BRC’s revenue is projected to reach USD 74.8 million with an EBITDA of USD 33 million,” Paramita added. (LK/ZH)
