JAKARTA. The Ministry of Finance would keep its intention to issue debt securities worth IDR 157 trillion by the end of this year. Thus, the realisation of Government Debt Securities issuance is estimated to reach IDR 1,144.6 trillion by the end of the year.

The issuance follows the Joint Decision Letter III signed by the Ministry of Finance and Bank Indonesia (BI) regarding the distribution of financing expenses of the 2021 State Budget.

Director of Strategy and Financing Portfolio of Directorate-General of Taxes of the Ministry of Finance, Riko Amir, said that the realisation of securities issuance by the government was lower than the initial target. “Until the end of 2021, the realisation is cut down significantly by approximately IDR 300 trillion from the initial plan,” he admitted in the virtual press conference yesterday (13/12).

Meanwhile, the realisation of debts from international institutions, bilaterally and multilaterally, has reached USD 2.92 billion or IDR 41.84 trillion (using IDR 14,330 per USD rate) throughout this year. The realised amount originated from World Bank loans of USD 1.05 billion, Asian Development Bank (ADB) of USD 1 billion, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) of USD 475 million, Asian Infrastructure and Investment Bank (AIIB) of USD 37.5 million, and others.
