JAKARTA. Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI), Perry Warijyo, revealed that bank credits in November 2021 grew 4.73% year-on-year (yoy). He believed that this gain resulted from the ever improving intermediary functions observed until the end of this year.

According to Warijyo, credit growth was seen more fairly distributed across all purposes, including working capital credit, investment, and consumption credits. For instance, they climbed 5.38% yoy, 4.3% yoy, and 4.11% yoy, respectively. The credit growth also extended to almost all economic and MSME sectors. “This condition indicates an increasing demand for credits, which coincides with the recovering activities in the business,” he further claimed in a virtual press conference Thursday (16/12).

In October 2021, BI noticed that the non-performing loan (NPL) ratio was stable at 3.22% in gross ratio and 1.02% in net ratio. Furthermore, the capital adequacy ratio (CAR) of banks is still safe up there, arriving at 25.30%. (AM/ZH)
