Green economy is the new focus of BCA in credit channelling

22 December 2021 09:46

JAKARTA. In order to support the government’s policy in developing the green economy, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) currently eye the sustainable business sector in its credit distribution.

Hera F Haryn, Executive Vice President Secretariat & Corporate Communication of BCA, said that BCA appreciates the effort and the policy made by the government and thus declares its commitment to support the growth and development of the green economy in Indonesia.

According to Haryn, BCA believes that financing in the sustainable sector may, directly and indirectly, affect many initiatives and activities that could help alleviate climate change issues. For example, there could be emission reduction and funding for business sectors that prioritise the sustainable economy. “BCA does not discriminate against any certain sectors. We provide financing opportunities to all sectors,” she added, as quoted in Kontan.co.id yesterday (21/12).

BCA’s commitment towards advancing the sustainable sector that puts environmental, social, and governance (ESG) value forward is further demonstrated by its credit channelling growth in the said sector. The increase reached 25.6% in Q3 2021, amounting to IDR 143.1 trillion. (AM/ZH)
