Ministry of Transportation continues the development of Indonesian-centric transportation

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation remains committed to continuing the development of transportation infrastructure with an Indonesia-centric concept, which is not only in Java, but throughout Indonesia. That way, it will create inter-regional connectivity that can unite the Indonesian people.

In 2021, the Ministry of Transportation received a budget allocation of IDR 45.66 trillion. There is a refocusing of the budget for handling Covid-19, and others, down to IDR 34.01 trillion. "By the end of 2021, we are optimistic that absorption will reach 96 percent. An effort that is not easy in the midst of a pandemic, but we are consistent in continuing development," said Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi at the 2021 End of Year Press Conference, in Jakarta, Tuesday (21/12).

A number of transportation infrastructure developments that have been successfully completed in 2021, including: KRL Jogja – Solo, Kuabang Airport, North Halmahera, Haji Muhammad Sidik Muara Teweh Airport, Central Kalimantan, YIA Kulonprogo Airport Railway, Jakarta Manggarai Station Flyover, Mopah Airport Merauke Papua, Wae Kelambu Multipurpose Terminal, Labuan Bajo Port, Tebelian Sintang Airport, West Kalimantan, and Ngloram Cepu Airport, Central Java.

For 2022, the Ministry of Transportation will receive a budget allocation of IDR 32.93 trillion. This number has decreased from the previous two years (in 2020 IDR 36.39 Trillion, in 2021 IDR 34.01 Trillion).

With the increasingly limited budget allocation, the Ministry of Transportation will prioritize work programs that have a broad impact on the community and refer to the theme of the government's 2022 work plan, namely "Economic Recovery and Structural Reform". In 2022, the Ministry of Transportation will also support the G20 Summit which will take place in Bali. The Ministry of Transportation will prepare transportation facilities and infrastructure using electric vehicles. (LM)
