JAKARTA - PT Plasticpay Teknologi Daurulang, a digital-based of social behavioral change platform which is also a subsidiary of PT Inocycle Technology Group Tbk (INOV), is targeting to expand its reach by adding 800 dropboxes of plastic bottle waste including 40 Reverse Vending Machines (RVM) in 2022. Plasticpay is optimistic about this target after successfully installing 238 dropbox points by the end 2021 and 7 RVMs in the Jabodetabek area. This step is part of Plasticpay's efforts to accelerate the implementation of a circular economy in Indonesia.
Suhendra Setiadi, as CEO of Plasticpay as well as Director of INOV said, "Currently, the community is very enthusiastic to take part in building a clean Indonesia without plastic waste. So, we continue to expand our reach to more locations in Indonesia outside of Jabodetabek and we aim to install around 800 dropboxes of plastic bottle waste by 2022, 40 of which will be digital machines or RVMs.”
Suhendra explained further, in order to overcome Indonesia’s waste problem, Plasticpay actively invites people to exchange plastic bottle waste with points. In addition, throughout 2021, Plasticpay actively collaborates with various parties such as Bank Syariah Indonesia, Danone - Aqua, Le Minerale, Kopi Gadjah, Caffino, 5Days, Milk Life, Sahabat Sirkulasi Semesta, Grand Indonesia, Alfamart, Berani Jaga Bumi, SheStars.id dan LionsClub Indonesia. With these efforts, throughout 2021, Plasticpay managed to collect as much as 22 tons of plastic bottle waste and this achievement has increased three times compared to 2020.
In the future, Plasticpay will consistently intensify its expansion by providing more dropbox points to facilitate and make it easier for people to collect plastic bottle waste. Any plastic waste collected will be recycled by the holding company, PT Inocycle Technology Group (INOV), to then be transformed into environmentally friendly products produced with MSMEs in Indonesia.
