Bumi Resources paid Tranche A debts of USD 101.4 million

JAKARTA. PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI), a coal mining company of Bakrie Group, made payments to cover its principal and coupon debts of Tranche A of USD 101.4 million on January 10, 2022.

Dileep Srivastava, Director and Corporate Secretary of BUMI, said that this payment is the highest that the company ever channelled out. “It resulted from the situation in the coal sector and our efficiency,” he explained in the official statement.

With the latest payment this month, BUMI has now paid back Tanche A principal and interest debts of USD 545.2 million in total. It comprises principal debts of USD 378.2 million and interests of USD 166.9 million.

The next payment for this Tranche A will take place in April 2022. “The Payment-in-Kind (PIK) coupon over Tranche B and C had also been capitalised from April 11, 2018, to January 10, 2022,” Srivastava confirmed.

Based on idnfinancials.com data, BUMI has cash and bank placements of USD 132.66 million as of September 30, 2021. Meanwhile, its total assets reportedly reach USD 3.7 billion, consisting of USD 551 million of current assets and USD 3.15 billion of non-current assets. (KR/ZH)
