JAKARTA. The team of suspension of debt payment obligations (lit. Penundaan Kewajiban Pembayaran Utang/PKPU) of Garuda Indonesia has received billings from at least 470 creditors of IDR 198 trillion.

The member of the PKPU team of Garuda Indonesia, Martin Patrick Nagel explained that the team, creditors, and debtor are currently pre-verifying the billings. “The billings are being matched with the data or notes from the debtor, Garuda Indonesia,” he stated in the official release yesterday (13/1).

The team set the deadline for submitting the billings to the debtor, regarding the process of suspension of debt payment obligations of Garuda Indonesia, to January 5, 2022. The pre-verification process started on January 12, 2022, while the verification meeting will take place on January 19, 2022, in the Central Jakarta High Court.

According to Nagel, if another billing emerged from other creditors during the pre-verification and verification period, it would be processed according to the PKKPU Law procedures. “If there were any local creditors that filed the billings [past the deadline] at least two days before the creditor meeting, we would ask for other creditors’ approval as a consideration factor on whether or not it would be listed on accounts receivables,” he explained in detail.

Another team member, Jandri Siadari, is optimistic that this step will be completed on time. “We will maximise our works in verification as the debtor also cooperates well in the verification process. The verification is targeted to conclude on time,” Siadari claimed. (AM/ZH)
