Bintang Bano Dam in NTB ready to be inaugurated

WEST SUMBAWA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono during a working visit to West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, reviewed the readiness for the inauguration of the Bintang Bano Dam as a multifunctional dam in Brang Rea District, West Sumbawa Regency, NTB, Wednesday (12/01).

Minister Basuki said the Bintang Bano Dam will be the third dam in NTB to be inaugurated by President Jokowi after the Tanju Dam in 2018 and the Mila Dam in 2019. "This dam is also the largest in terms of its capacity in NTB with a volume of 76 million m3," said Minister Basuki. Minister Basuki.

The Bintang Bano Dam, which was built with a total budget of IDR1.44 trillion, was carried out by contractors namely PT Brantas Abipraya - PT Hutama Karya - PT Bahagia Bangun Nusa (KSO) to reduce flooding in West Sumbawa Regency by 53%.

Finally, Minister Basuki said that by 2022 it is targeted that there will be 9 dams to be inaugurated, including the Banyan Sila Dam in Sumbawa Regency with a capacity of 27 million m3. (LM)
