24 January 2022 11:12

JAKARTA – PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) spares IDR 3 trillion to repurchase its shares (buyback). This corporate action will be initiated at least 18 months after the final decision on the Annual General Shareholders Meeting on March 1, 2022.

Aestika Oryza Gunarto, Corporate Secretary of Bank Rakyat Indonesia, said that the fund resources for the buyback originated from the company’s internal cash. “The buyback will not significantly affect the revenue or operational costs,” he added in the information disclosure quoted today (24/1).

As of September 2021, BBRI reported total assets of IDR 1,619 trillion, total equity of IDR 280 trillion, the current year’s total profit of IR 19.07 trillion, and the profit per share of IDR 126.45 billion. Then, its Return on Asset (ROA) reached 2.33%, while its Return on Equity (ROE) arrived at 13.62%. After this corporate action, BRI’s total assets will be slightly lower to IDR 1,616 trillion, as would its total equity to IDR 277.28 trillion. In contrast, its profit per share will increase to IDR 127.08 billion, as would its ROE to 13.68%. (LK/ZH)
