ZINC aims to score USD 43 million in its lead smelter’s initial production

26 January 2022 06:49

JAKARTA. PT Kapuas Prima Coal Tbk (ZINC) aims to generate 12,000-15,000 tons of lead (Pb) bullion during the initial production of its smelting facility. The said production is expected to contribute up to USD 43 million to the company’s sales.

“We are grateful that as we enter 2022, one of our smelting facilities, the lead (Pb) smelter, already initiates its commercial operation testing in two stages,” Hendra William, President Director of Kapuas Prima Coal, stated in the official statement yesterday (25/1).

The full production capacity of this lead smelting facility will reach 20,000 tons of bullion per year, thus hopefully generating USD 60-80 million of contribution to ZINC’s consolidated revenue.

The current target of lead sales is the export to China. However, with the raw mineral export restriction taking effect, ZINC turns to the domestic market. ZINC hopes that the local market can absorb the lead products and support the downstream acceleration initiated by the government along the way. (AM/ZH)
