JAKARTA – PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah (BPD) Sumut aims to launch its initial public offering (IPO) soon, at least by the end of the first half of 2022. Rahmat Fadillah, President Director of BPD Sumut, announces the plan, as quoted from antara.com today (26/1).
“The performance of Bank Sumut improved in 2021. Hopefully, IPO can commence in June 2022. There are three options, including June, September, or December 2022,” Fadillah admits.
According to Fadillah, the said corporate action plan had been approved during the Extraordinary General Shareholders Meeting in September 2021. The proceeds of the IPO will then be used to solidify core capital and strengthen the information technology infrastructure of the bank.
In 2021, Bank Sumut scored IDR 614 billion in its profit, increasing 19.3% from its profit in 2020 of IDR 515 billion. Its non-performing loan (NPL) also depleted from 3.54% in 2020 to 3.09% in 2021. (LK/ZH)
