JAKARTA – PT Pelita Global Logistik, a subsidiary of PT Pelita Samudera Shipping Tbk (PSSI), sold off one unit of vessel to Hui Shuin Maritime (HSM) Limited Hong Kong for USD 11.6 milllion. Iriawan Ibarat, President Director of PSSI, announced the news in the information disclosure quoted Thursday (27/1).

“The purpose behind this asset divestment is to upgrade the ship that has been 14 years of age. Additionally, the company will gain profit from selling the ship amidst the positive condition in the ship market these days,” Ibarat reasoned.

According to Ibarat, the company’s stash will increase as much as the said transaction price this year. PSSI’s total assets until September 2021 amounted to USD 145.99 million. It comprised current assets of USD 32.12 million and non-current assets of USD 112.99 million.

Prior to this transaction, the company managed three floating loading facilities (FLF) with a capacity of 40,000 MT per day and a coal blending facility of 30,000 MT per day. They also had one unit of floating crane with a capacity of 20,000 MT per day, 41 units of tugboats and 39 units of barges, six units of handysize bulk cargo motor vessels of 32,000 MT, and a supramax of 56,000 MT.

PSSI and HSM are not affiliated. HSM was registered in Hong Kong, running the bulk carrier service since 1984. (LK/ZH)
