JAKARTA. PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) will boost the capital of its subsidiary, PT Central Capital Ventura (CCV), by IDR 400 billion. It is BCA’s strategy to promote its venture capital business expansion in the future.
“We have prepared IDR 400 billion to expand the venture capital. We also give it authority to decide on which fields it will enter,” Jahja Setiaadmaja, President Director of BBCA, revealed in the 2021 performance release last Thursday (27/1).
According to Setiaadmadja, there have been 26 start-ups that gained funding from CCV until today. They include Julo, Akseleran, Agate, Garena, Sinbad, 6Estates, Wallex, Element, Bambu, Pomona, Moduit, and OY!.
Setiaadmadja will ensure Central Capital Ventura keeps investing in start-ups that have the potential to generate profits. This capital injection also solidified BBCA’s portion in CCV, reaching 99.99%, while the remaining 0.01% belongs to PT BCA Finance. (AM/ZH)
