BTN to issue IDR 1 trillion bonds in Q2 2022

09 February 2022 09:27

JAKARTA. According to its plan in Q2 2022, PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BBTN) will issue bonds worth IDR 1 trillion. The issuance is scheduled for Q2 2022.

Nofry Rony Poetra, Director of Financial Planning and Treasury of BBTN, said that the upcoming issuance of bonds is intended to maintain the continuity of the bond market, considering BBTN did not issue any bonds in 2021. “In order to maintain the continuity in the bond market, we will issue another set of bonds this year, worth IDR 1 trillion. The process will proceed in the second or third quarter,” he explained in the virtual 2021 BTN performance report yesterday (8/2).

BBTN previously planned to issue Asset-Backed Securities in 2022. The company saw promising potential in the said instrument due to its popularity in retail users who seek alternative investments other than stock.

“We will pick up the securitisation process in Q1 2022. Other than institutions, we will also eye retail investors who gain interests in investing in retail Asset-Backed Securities,” Poetra added. (AM/ZH)
