The profit of Unilever Indonesia slipped 19.6% to IDR 5.76 trillion in 2021

JAKARTA. PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (UNVR), a fast-moving consumer goods manufacturer owning over 40 brands, recorded a profit decline of up to 19.6% in 2021 to IDR 5.76 trillion.

On the contrary, in 2020, UNVR used to score a profit of IDR 7.16 trillion. The depleted profit in 2021 resulted from weakened sales of 7.97% year-on-year (yoy) to IDR 39.55 trillion, whereas in the previous year, its sales generated IDR 42.97 trillion.

The decreased sales of UNVR were seen both in the domestic and export markets. Domestically, UNVR’s sales moved down by 8% yoy to IDR 37.85 trillion. Similarly, export also generated 6.39% yoy less, scoring only IDR 1.7 trillion.

The household and body care products still became the biggest contributors to UNVR’s sales in 2021, with total sales of IDR 26.38 trillion, equal to 66.7% of the entire sales. Then, the food and beverage products followed behind, bringing in IDR 13.17 trillion to the total sales.

As of December 31, 2021, UNVR possessed total assets of IDR 19.07 trillion. Unilever Indonesia Holding BV is still listed as its controlling shareholder, claiming  85% of the shares, while public investors shared the remaining 15%. (KR/ZH)
