Ministry of PUPR targets construction of 354 km new national road

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Highways will continue development in the connectivity sector, especially the completion of road and bridge infrastructure that has begun to be built and the use of infrastructure that has been built.

Director General of Highways Hedy Rahadian said that in 2022 the Directorate General of Highways will receive a budget allocation of IDR39.7 trillion, which will be used for connectivity infrastructure programs of IDR37.3 trillion (93.94%) and IDR2.4 trillion (6.06%) for management support programs such as employee salary requirements and operational expenditures.

"For road infrastructure, a budget of IDR 21.8 trillion is allocated for the construction of new national roads that are targeted at 354 km and for the preservation/improvement of the quality of national roads," said Hedy at a Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission V DPR, Tuesday (15/2).

Hedy said that the construction of the new national roads in 2022 includes the Geumpang - Pameue ​​(Aceh) roads, the Java Pansela (Central Java, DIY, East Java), Planjan - Baron -Tepus (DIY), Siding / Sewide - Sekayang / Entikong (West Kalimantan), Long Pahangai – Long Boh & Long Bagun - Tering (East Kalimantan), Rasau - Jasa - Bts. Negara (West Kalimantan), Manado Outer Ring Road III (North Sulawesi), Kendari Circle (Sultra), Mamberamo – Elelim and Access Roads.

In addition to road construction, Hedy said that in 2022 a budget of IDR 6.9 trillion will be allocated for the construction of 20,188m bridges including the Sei Wampu Bridge (North Sumatra); Way Rarem Bridge (Lampung); Ciloseh (West Java), Ratah River (East Kalimantan), Sambas Besar River (West Kalimantan), Anak Nyum Cs (Papua), Construction of Kretek Bridge 2 (DIY), Construction of Tiong Ohang - Long Pahangai Parallel Border Bridge (East Kalimantan), Construction of Bridges and Oprit Boulevard (North Sulawesi).
