JAKARTA. British American Tobacco (2009 PCA) Limited (BAT), a multinational tobacco manufacturer, announced another extension of the tender offer period of the shares of PT Bentoel Internasional Investama Tbk (RMBA).

In the official release of BAT in various national newspapers, the tender offer extension is said to give more opportunities to public investors to divest their portions in RMBA to BAT. “It is especially intended for those shareholders who, up until now, have yet to participate in the tender offer of RMBA’s shares,” the management further revealed.

The extension of the tender offer spans to March 7, 2022. Earlier on January 5, 2022, BAT had outstretched the tender offer to January 28, 2022.

The tender offer of RMBA’s shares commenced on November 1, 2021. This corporate action is a part of the go-private and delisting off of Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) agenda of RMBA.

The total shares of RMBA ready to be taken over by BAT amount to 2.74 billion units, which are equal to 7.5% of RMBA’s paid-up capital. The offering price of each RMBA’s shares in this tender offer is set to IDR 1,000 per share.

By January 28, 2022, BAT received 783 offers from public investors. The incoming bids represented 2.72 billion units of RMBA’s shares, equivalent to 99.45% of the shares claimed by public investors. (KR/ZH)
