PLN scored IDR 25.13 trillion in revenue in January 2022

JAKARTA – PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) recorded electricity sales in January 2022 of 22.45 gigawatt hour (GWh), climbing 1.03% from the same period in 2021 of 22.33 GWh. It ended up with a revenue of IDR 25.13 trillion, growing from IDR 22.36 trillion.

Agung Murdifi, Executive Vice President of Corporate Communication and CSR of PLN, claimed that this achievement resulted from the innovation and efficiency policies implemented by the company. “The increased sales indicate the improvement in the Indonesian economy in the middle of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic,” he said in the press release quoted today (24/2).

According to Murdifi, PLN also ran several programs to arouse the business sector so that it survives through this condition. For example, it initiated a discount of extra power fees and easy installation. Moreover, the management worked on more inventions to fuel the increase of users across all business sectors.

For instance, in January 2022, the number of users is 4.77% higher than in 2021 to 828 million users. The capacity of power plants also proliferated 209.57% to 29 megawatts (MW), while the transmission capacity climbed 2.22% to 177 circuit kilometres (ckm). The primary substation handled 120 megavolt ampere (MVA), while the distribution substation carried 34 MVA. (LK/ZH)
